Requirements and guidelines
We defined the clinical needs and gathered the tables from Swedish and international guidelines.

EWSfai is an early warning score app for nurses and doctors on the ward and in emergency care. It brings MEWS, NEWS2, PEWS and ONEWS into one app, so the right score is always at hand. That covers adults, children and obstetric patients.
Each patient group has its own scoring system, and the tables live on laminated cards or in memory. So a score on a busy ward takes time, and a wrong lookup is easy.
Adults, children and obstetric patients each need their own system, so staff juggle several tables.
Reading observations against a table and adding the points takes time that the ward does not have.
Measurements end up on scraps of paper, so sharing them with a colleague means walking away from the patient.
A number alone does not say what to do next. The team needs a clear risk level to act on.
We built an early warning score app that follows Swedish and international guidelines. The nurse or doctor enters the observations, and the app returns the score and the risk level. Then they can save and share the result without leaving the patient.
All major early warning scores in one app, for adults, children and maternity care, based on Swedish and international guidelines.
Enter respiratory rate, pulse, blood pressure, temperature and consciousness. Then the app returns the score and the risk level, like a NEWS2 calculator at the bedside.
Store, edit and share measurements without pen and paper, so a colleague sees the same numbers at once.
The app supports the assessment but never replaces it. Guidelines and disclaimers live inside the app itself.
First we gathered the scoring tables themselves. Then we designed the flows so a score takes seconds, and we checked every table before release.

The mobile interface puts each scale two taps away, and the result shows at a glance.
Next came the four scoring screens, the risk levels, and saving and sharing of measurements.
Finally, we checked every table against its source, polished the interface and published the app on Google Play.
Tizfai Technologies AB publishes EWSfai on Google Play. The app gathers all major early warning scores in one place, and it works as a supportive tool. It helps with the calculation, while the clinical judgement stays with the professional.
